Karate for Kids
There are many reasons for kids to become involved in the martial arts. We have developed a program based on traditional Taekwondo for kids called Karate for Kids. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as:
Goals
Friendship
Perseverance
Self-Control
Confidence
Self-Improvement
Courtesy
Self Awareness
Respect
Integrity
Self-Esteem
Dedication
Physical Exercise
Self-Discipline
Honesty
In addition to monthly themes, our system includes the unique victory patch. Kids are rewarded special "Victory Stars." These different colored stars are rewarded for outstanding performance in karate class, school, home or at a tournament competition. Kids may receive the following stars for the following deeds:
Gold
Straight A’s, honor roll, or significant improvement
Silver
Special performance awards
Blue
Monthly themes, weekly lessons, classroom performance
Red
Tournament participation
Four different colored Victory Patches are available to accommodate all the stars that can be earned by a high achieving Karate Kid:

This program was developed based on traditional Taekwondo for kids. We have found that the majority of parents have gotten their children started in Taekwondo for one of the following reasons:
Self-Defense
Children's self-defense takes many forms. Taekwondo teaches children to think instead of panic in potentially serious situations as well as how to appropriately react to threats from other kids and how to handle peer pressure.
Self-Confidence
It doesn't come naturally for many children, but rather is developed over a period of time. As a child accomplishes new goals, his or her confidence level increases. Children become more self-confident in Taekwondo because they progress individually at their own pace and are not judged against others.
Better Grades
Being a Karate Kid also means being a better student. All kids in the Karate for Kids program learn skills, such as following directions, paying attention in class, and participating in class activities that help them to become better students.
Coordination
Taekwondo challenges the entire body, developing coordination, balance, agility, and poise, often neglected in many team sports available to children in this age group.
Every Child Wins
In Taekwondo every kid can be a winner instead of a bench sitter because Taekwondo allows children to reach for their own potential rather than directly competing against other kids.
Fun
Karate lessons are a dynamic and challenging approach to the martial arts for children who are athletic, energetic, awkward, or shy, bold, nice, or maybe even a little wild once in a while. Karate is probably for a kid just like you.
Additional Benefits
Taekwondo offers many other benefits for children such as improved concentration and self-discipline both of which contribute to improved performance in school.
Classes for Children Only
We pride ourselves in offering classes for children only. As professional instructors, we realize that children have specific training needs and requirements that can best be answered in their own classes since they learn differently from teenagers and adults.
